The Towers: The Birthplace of Bear Beginnings

Brookings Hall is the gateway to the WashU experience.

Going through its pillars is a rite of passage experienced by all students when they enter this school for the first time during orientation week (which takes place on every first year student's first week on campus).

From the perspective of this photo, you are unable to see the buildings behind Brookings Hall, leading to a mystery and wonder of what can be on the other side. This shows how it is perceived as a gateway to the WashU experience and the mystical opportunities WashU has to offer. Being unable to see the numerous resources behind it shows the numerous unseen possibilities available to students. The tall imposing towers and the concealment of the structures behind it from this perspective tease prospective students and new students of the future opportunities WashU has in store for them.

This image shows how it helps Washington University be percieved as a gateway to what the University has to offer.
